Tara Retreat Center, or the Tara Zhingkham, is a sacred space for spiritual practices centered on Tara, the female Bodhisattva in Gelephu Mindfulness City (GMC). Bhutan Tara Foundation, under the patronage of Leytshog Lopen Sangay Dorji, is spearheading the project.
Kurukulle Centre is a sacred living mandala dedicated to Jetsunma Kurukulle, the Goddess of Magnetizing Enlightened Activities in Vajrayana Buddhism. It is being built in Pemaling under the Gelephu Mindfulness City (GMC), with the patronage of His Eminence Gangtey Trulku Rinpoche.
Gelephu Maitreya Temple is a sacred Jamba Lhakhang dedicated to Maitreya, the future Buddha. Built in the visionary landscape of Gelephu Mindfulness City (GMC), this temple symbolises compassion and the promise of future enlightenment. His Eminence Trulku Kunga Tenzin conceived the temple.
Druk Ugyen Samye Ling is a living Mandala of wisdom, practice & compassion, inspired by the sacred legacy of Samye Monastery in Tibet. This sacred project is developed not as a replica of the 8th-century Buddhist site, but as a living center of Buddha-Dharma where practice, study, and contemplative life coexist in harmony.
Kesang Do-ngag Shedrupling (KDS) Shechen International Buddhist Academy is a visionary center for higher Buddhist education being established at Pelrithang under Gelephu Mindfulness City (GMC). The project is the result of a shared vision of Shechen Rabjam Rinpoche and Her Royal Highness Princess Kesang Wangmo Wangchuck.
Barchey Kuensel Chorten is a central stupa surrounded by 108 smaller stupas in Samtengang under the Gelephu Mindfulness City (GMC). It is built to symbolize peace, harmony, and universal well-being under the leadership of Khenpo Karma Wangchuk.
Gelephu Dzong, also known as Shambhala Dzong, is a large, iconic fortress and a Vajrayana Centre in Gelephu Mindfulness City (GMC). The Shambala Dzong is inspired by Paro Rinpung Dzong and will incorporate both traditional Bhutanese architecture and modern facilities. Zhung Dratshang (Central Monastic Body) of Bhutan is leading the project.
Dorden Tashi Gomang Chorten is a monumental replica of Bodhgaya’s Mahabodhi Temple, rising 291 feet high and 256 feet wide in Trashiling, under the Gelephu Mindfulness City (GMC). The stupa was conceived to embody the enlightened mind of the Buddha in physical form.
Ugyen Norlha Chorten, formerly known as Tabab Chorten, is a four-story stupa-temple dedicated to Ugyen Norlha, the manifestation of prosperity of Guru Rinpoche, that symbolizes a spiritual gateway to the Gelephu Mindfulness City (GMC). The stupa stands 53 feet tall, one of the first spiritual projects of the GMC, initiated by the Central Monastic Body.
Spiritual Sites in Gelephu Mindfulness City are sacred Buddhist landmarks, including temples, stupas, meditation centers, and Vajrayana institutes, all of which were established with Royal Approval granted by His Majesty the King.
