Tha Namkhai Dzong is a holy site of Guru Rinpoche that resembles a frontier sky fortress, featuring a religious bell hanging from a cliff and an Urn (Thro). It is located in Lajab Gewog under Dagana Dzongkhag at an elevation of 1560 meters above sea level.
Jomolhari is a sacred mountain with a meditation cave of Guru Rinpoche and Khandro Yeshe Tsogyal located at an altitude of more than 4,600 meters above sea level. The Jomolhari Temple is built near the cave within the Jurisdiction of Soe Gewog of Lingzhi Drungkhag under Thimphu Dzongkhag. However, not many people visit this holy site due to the altitude and distance.
Rangtse Ney is a sacred abode of Guru Rinpoche and Khandro Yeshe Tsogyel, located in Chego village in Gakiling Gewog under Haa Dzongkhag at an altitude of 1200 meters above sea level. This sacred, hidden site is located on the top (Tse) of a unique bowl-shaped valley (Rong) overlooking the Amochhu. Thus, the name Rongtse.
Aja Ney is one of the three sacred sites of Guru Rinpoche, where he imprinted one hundred repetitions of the sacred syllable “Aa” on the cave after meditation. This holy site of Aja Ney, Bhutan, is located in Ngatsang village of Sherimuhung Gewog under Mongar Dzongkhag in Eastern Bhutan at an altitude of 3,500 meters above sea level.
Baylangdra Ney is a sacred place where Guru Rinpoche meditated and conquered the local spirit Lhatsen Langdra. The Baylangdra Nye is located in Kazhi Gewog under Wangdue Phodrang Dzongkhag at an altitude of 2989 meters above sea level.
Gom Dra is one of Guru Rinpoche’s Four Cliffs, which he entrusted to Phajo Drugom Zhigpo in his prophetic vision. This sacred cliff is located in Paro Dzongkhag at an elevation of more than 2,200 meters above sea level.
Khandro Tashi Wangmo from Chang-Namka village extended the centuries-old Drupkhang into a small temple. Later, Prostration Man Chimi built a beautiful temple complex in the meditation cliff cave of Phajo.
Gongza Ney is a sacred place where Khandro Yeshey Tshogyal offered tea to Guru Rinpoche at noon while he was on the way to Gomphu Kora to subdue a demon. The Ney is located on the banks of Gongri (Drangme Chhu) in Toedtsho Gewog under Trashi Yangtse Dzongkhag at an altitude of 927 masl.
Tshelung Ney is the second Draphu Maratika where Guru Rinpoche received life empowerment (Tse Ngedrup) from Tsepakme. It is located in Tshaluna village, west of Thimphu Dzongkhag, at an elevation of 3063 masl. Guru Rimpoche and Khandro Yeshe Tsogyal blessed Tshelung Nye and concealed many sacred religious treasures in the 8th century.
Tshechu Dra is one of the “four cliffs” of Guru Rinpoche entrusted to Phajo Drugom Zhigpo in his prophetic vision. This sacred cliff of longevity is located in the Panikong village of Khamaed Gewog under Gasa Dzongkhag at an elevation of 2335 meters above sea level.
RaGoe Ney is a sacred place blessed by Guru Rinpoche in the 8th century, where the Guru Sungjoen Statue, brought by a goat and a vulture from Punakha, was destined. The Ragoe Monastery is located in Doteng Gewog under Paro Dzongkhag at about 2839 meters above sea level.
